Version 2.4

Thanks for downloading my new Skyraider pack.

Please remove any previous versions of the Skyraider you might have, including the line in air.ini

To install:

Drop the CY6_Skyraiders Folder into your MODS folder.

Add the following lines to your air.ini:

AD-4 air.AD4 1 NOINFO usa01 DESERT
A-1H air.A1H 1 NOINFO usa01 DESERT
A-1J air.A1J 1 NOINFO usa01 DESERT

Notes:

The new skyraiders feature an improved FM and engine model. The plane has realistic load capacity and has been rebalanced.

The A-1H and A-1J Skyraiders feature a host of new Vietnam era weapons:

Bombs:

SUU-14 Munitions Dispenser: Releases dozens of small bomblets behind the plane.

CBU-25 Cluster Bomb: Explodes close to the ground, showering the area with bomblets.

BLU-2 Napalm Canister: A 500lb Napalm Canister.

Mk. 81 - 500lb streamlined bomb.

Mk. 82 - 500lb streamlined bomb.

M117 - 750lb streamlined bomb.

Mk. 83 - 1000lb streamlined bomb.

Mk. 7 Nuclear Bomb - Yup...

Rockets:

LAU-3 Rocket Pod: Holds 19 x 2.75" rockets.

LAU-32/A Rocket Pod: Holds 7 x 2.75" rockets.

Zuni Rocket Pod: Holds 4 x 5" Zuni rockets.

Guns:

SUU-11 Minigun Pod: Holds 1500 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, set to fire at 3000 rpm.

*Note, the minigun has been slightly beefed up to have a greater effect on vehicles.

Due to the sheer number of weapons available, I have had to provide a "cross-section" of weapons loads (possible loads could go into the hundreds).

Unlike previous versions of the skyraiders, the A-1H and A-1J now have unique weapons loads based on historical data.

The USAF A-1J carries a greater variety of anti-personel weapons and small rockets, uniquely the SUU-14 dispenser, minigun pods, and cluster bombs.

The Navy A-1H carriers a heavier strike load of large bombs and rockets, including Zuni rocket pods.

If you install these planes over older versions of the skyraider, old missions may have to be modified with new weapons loads.

Please note that the new wings and tail use separate skins from the rest of the plane (located in the main aircraft folder for each plane). To change the wing skins (without overwriting the original wing .tga's), use the following steps:

First, create the new skin (the wings use the same template as the F-84).

In the MODS folder create the following subfolders: "+NewWingSkins/3DO/Plane/(name of plane, ie AD-4).

Resize your skin with the following filenames and sizes (make sure to save in 32-bit mode to preserve the alpha channel):

WingSkin1z.tga 1024x1024
WingSkin1o.tga 512x512
WingSkin1p.tga 256x256
WingSkin1q.tga 128x128

Place the skins in the folder you created. To disable the new wings, just rename "+NewWingSkins" to "-NewWingSkins".

Repainting the tail follows the same process, but the .tga's should be TailSkin1z.tga, etc.

This mod is not intended to be 100% historically accurate, and it is a frankenplane. It is intended to be fun above all else, so please enjoy it :)
